Changes

Subsequent to starting my new job in January, I very quickly realized that in spite of my best intentions, if I ever wanted to sleep again or have a Sunday afternoon that I didn't have to spend in front of my computer, I was going to have to have more help in publishing the paper. So we have made some changes here at the Crier by adding staff. I will still be the Editor, write editorials, do a bit of reporting, and take care of all of the exciting accounting duties. The new staff and a short description of their duties are as follows:

  • Juli Kline - Juli has been our ad salesperson from the beginning and will still be taking care of sales. She now is our lead reporter, covering the County Commission meetings, City Council meetings, Ambulance District meetings, etc. So if you see her wandering about with a notebook in hand, don't say anything to her that you wouldn't want published in the paper, and start every conversation with her by saying, "This is off the record......".
  • Erica Cooper - Erica, owner of Balance Hair Salon, is the new Queen of ad layouts. She has done a few ad layouts for us in the past and now is doing most of them.
  • Denny Henke - Denny, our self-labeled 'geek in the garden', in addition to being a local expert on permaculture and living sustainably, is our computer guru. He will be doing the layout of the paper starting with our next edition.

I am excited about the changes and think the paper will be even better than before. In my next post I will add a bit of biographical information about our new staff for those of you that don't already know them.
